Responsibilities

As an Experienced Data Entry Clerk – Accounting and Administrative Support, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Transferring data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners
  • Typing in data provided directly from customers with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Creating spreadsheets with large numbers of figures without mistakes, ensuring data consistency and accuracy
  • Verifying data by comparing it to source documents, maintaining data integrity and confidentiality
  • Updating existing data, ensuring that information is up-to-date and accurate
  • Retrieving data from the database or electronic files as requested, providing timely and accurate responses
  • Performing regular backups to ensure data preservation and prevent loss
  • Sorting and organizing paperwork after entering data, maintaining a clutter-free and efficient workspace

Requirements and Skills

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as a data entry clerk, with a strong understanding of data entry principles and best practices
  • Fast typing skills, with a strong preference for touch typing
  • Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets, including MS Office Word and Excel
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
  • Basic understanding of databases, including data management and retrieval
  • Good command of English, both oral and written, with excellent customer service skills
  • Great attention to detail, with a keen eye for accuracy and precision
  • High school degree or equivalent, with a strong foundation in mathematics and computer skills

Essential Qualifications

* 1-2 years of experience in data entry, with a strong understanding of data management principles

  • Excellent typing skills, with a minimum of 60 words per minute
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Access
  • Basic understanding of database management systems, including data retrieval and manipulation
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working with cloud-based data management systems, including Google Drive or Dropbox

  • Knowledge of data analytics tools, including Excel and Tableau
  • Certification in data entry or a related field, such as Microsoft Office Specialist or Certified Data Entry Specialist
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
