Graphic Designer & Website Lead - SHOPIFY STORE

I'm looking for an exceptional and experienced designer with good web design fundamentals... and marketing skills. We are a small, agile company that maintains four websites - each built on different platforms. www.learnaboutwine.com - we will relaunch with new talent www.Merchantofwine.com - happy on the SHOPIFY platform We are looking for an experienced designer that has strong SEO and marketing prowess. We create engaging events and need a marketer to help us communicate this in the design and functionality of our websites. The graphic designer job description includes the entire process of defining requirements, visualizing and creating graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts and photos. You’ll be the one to shape the visual aspects of websites which will impact our social media promotions and more. Your graphics should capture the attention of those who see them and communicate the right message. For this, you need to have a sales/marketing creative flair and a strong ability to translate requirements into design. If you can communicate well and work methodically as part of a team, we’d like to meet you. The goal is to inspire and attract the target audience. Website design ability will help us bridge a number of shortcomings and allow you to lead a number of professionals we work with in a team to achieve a large number of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Function of website (s)
• Schedule projects
• Conceptualize visuals based on requirements
• Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using your own software from your Home (fully remote)
• Must be available on PST for calls and meetings from 11-5pm Tuesday -Friday... sometimes weekends are also necessary... but seldom
• Work without supervision as we are a small shop.
• Test graphics across various media
• Amend designs after feedback
• Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand Skills
• Knowledge of SHOPIFY a must.
• Ability to improve SEO
• Proven graphic designing experience
• We produce ads, marketing materials like postcards, brochures, and trade event materials.
• A portfolio of Marketing oriented graphics (no drawings please)
• Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop)
• USE of AI to assist in design is required.
• A keen eye for aesthetics and details
• Excellent communication skills and grammar/spelling a must
• Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
• Degree in Design and or Marketing is a plus
• Must have strong command of proper English We run a busy - high energy - high turn and burn event business with over 25 years of experience. Our clients The wineries, the restaurants and wine shops, and anyone that loves premium wine events. We are hired by the best in the business and we deserve a great designer. While the work is remote - this designer is part of a local team and our time needs are critical. You must be available 10am to 4pm daily and be available to work weekends if work flows require it. Job Type Part-time Pay Negotiable - we will pay a strong candidate well per hour - but will ask you to start at $35 to train and advance from there... I pay our current designer $40 and she is the best! She will teach you the ropes and we plan to have you take the lead roll.... and eventually teach her... I see this designer making $50 per hour if efficient. While we do not mind remote works - we do not hire agencies, I need a relationship with the designer that gets to know our tastes and preferences in time. We work as a team and require designer to be available to work on morning Los Angeles time (typically 9am to 1pm) (or 10am to 2pm) We love designers that have other clients - we can work around many issues.
