Higher Education Human Resources/Payroll Consultants – Remote

CampusWorks is looking for Human Resources/Payroll Consultants to assist our higher education clients in strengthening their human resources operations. The consulting engagements may be remote or onsite and can include serving as an interim CHRO/Director or Interim Head of HR, leading a Business Process Review project, or optimizing their HRIS system. The ideal candidates will have expertise in the business process associated with the employment lifecycle including, but not limited to: Position Management, Recruitment and Selection, Hiring, Onboarding, Faculty Credentialing, Faculty Workload, Adjunct Management, Benefits, Time and Leave Reporting, Performance Management, Payroll, Analytics and Reporting. These roles can be full-time or contract consultant (1099) opportunities. Please specify your preference in the application. CampusWorks consultants engage with our clients in higher education to assist them in fully leveraging their people, processes, policies, and technologies. We work collaboratively with clients’ functional and technical teams and our CampusWorks colleagues to evaluate current processes, design future-state optimal processes, and to architect, develop, test, train, and rollout process and technical solutions that delight our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as a Human Resources leader in higher education, providing day-to-day leadership of the human resources department staff
  • Providing oversight, direction, guidance, and coordination of the current human resources and payroll projects and priorities
  • Assessing the efficiency of the human resources department
  • Designing and delivering training
  • Assisting clients in how to best align policy, process, procedures, and personnel to effectively leverage human resources and payroll solutions Requirements
  • 5+ years’ experience as a senior-level Human Resources professional in a higher education institution
  • Prior work in a college or university as a CHRO, Vice President of Human Resources, AVP of Human Resources, Director of Human Resources, Director of Payroll, or Human Resource Business Analyst working with ERP/CRM products
  • Experience with a higher education ERP system (e.g., Ellucian Colleague, Banner, Jenzabar, Workday)
  • Experience assessing human resources/payroll operations and making recommendations for process improvement, including reviewing and recommending policy changes, staffing and organizational alignment changes, and realignment of roles and responsibilities when appropriate
  • Solid leadership skills, including facilitating diverse groups, creating consensus building and preparing the organization and individuals for change and ongoing continuous improvement
