Information Services Corporation is an industry leading employer with a global presence, providing registry and information management services for public data and records. They are seeking a Temporary Historical Researcher to conduct title and land research, manage historical documents, and ensure accurate information delivery to clients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct title, instrument, land location, and parcel research to gather accurate information in response to client requests
  • Retrieve and manage original historical documents to support research activities
  • Scan, upload, and maintain documents within the Client Image Management System, ensuring accuracy and readability
  • Perform quality assurance checks by comparing original documents to system records; correct and rescan as needed
  • Respond to client inquiries (internal and external) regarding historical requests, document status, and quality
  • Process client charges and fees using the Client Account Management System, ensuring accuracy and available funds
  • Maintain tracking systems and workflow queues (CRM, spreadsheets) to ensure accurate record-keeping and timely processing

Skills

  • The completion of a highschool diploma or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of legal land documents and terminology (e.g., transfers, mortgages, easements) and their implications
  • Knowledge of survey plans and legal land descriptions to support accurate title research
  • Solid grasp of accounting principles and cash-handling procedures for fee assessment and reconciliation
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure
  • Experience with research methods to conduct detailed title and document searches
  • Knowledge of data entry and general office procedures with a high level of accuracy
  • Proficiency with standard computer applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook) and office systems
