Independent Contractor: Facilitator, Assessor, Critical Reviewer and Developer – Data Science (NQF 7)
Closing date for applications: 31 July 2026 The Position We are seeking an experienced and adaptable External Contractor in Data Science to support the delivery and ongoing development of a commerce-focused Data Science qualification. This is a multi-functional academic role, where you may be engaged, depending on operational needs and your expertise, in one or more of the following areas: Facilitation Assessment Critical review of material You will contribute to building a high-quality, applied Data Science learning experience that prepares students to operate effectively at the intersection of data, technology, and business decision-making. Depending on allocation, responsibilities may include: Facilitation Facilitate engaging, student-centred online learning Guide students through complex data science concepts Support student learning through discussion and academic support Assessment Assess student submissions in line with academic standards Provide clear, constructive, and developmental feedback Ensure consistency and fairness in marking Critical Review of material Critical review of qualification and material Contribute to the design or revision of: Learning materials Assessments Module content Ensure content is current, applied, and aligned with industry practice Key Competencies Strong analytical and critical thinking ability Ability to translate technical concepts into business-relevant insights Excellent written and verbal communication skills High level of organisation and reliability Commitment to academic quality and continuous improvement Why Join Us?
