About the Role

The Mentor Consultant supports Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultants (IECMHC) across Oregon through reflective consultation, coaching, and professional development. This role focuses on strengthening practice quality, building consultant capacity, and modeling culturally responsive and culturally sustaining, equity-centered approaches in early childhood mental health consultation. The Mentor Consultant collaborates closely with the Mentor Consultant Coordinator and other Mentor Consultants to ensure consistency and high-quality service delivery across regions.

What You Will Do

Reflective Consultation and Mentorship

  • Provide reflective consultation and coaching to IECMH Consultants, individually and in small groups
  • Support onboarding and development of new consultants
  • Model culturally responsive and culturally sustaining, trauma-informed, and equity-centered practices, integrating cultural values and lived experiences into consultation and relationship-building

Training and Practice Development

  • Contribute to training content, tools, and practice resources
  • Facilitate or support communities of practice and learning spaces
  • Help strengthen consistency and quality across consultation approaches

Program and System Support

  • Partner with the Mentor Consultant team to share insights, trends, and field needs
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and evolving best practices
  • Support documentation of effective strategies and learning
  • Collaborate with the core leadership team to help define and align the Mentor Consultant role across the system
  • Participate in planning efforts to identify and address regional gaps in IECMH services

Collaboration and Relationship Building

  • Build relationships across regions and partner organizations
  • Represent ORIMHA in meetings, trainings, or events
  • Contribute to a connected, statewide system of support
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all consultation and supervision activities

What You Bring

  • Master’s degree in a mental health, early childhood, or related field
  • Licensure or working toward licensure LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or similar
  • 3 plus years of experience in infant or early childhood mental health or related work
  • Experience providing IECMH consultation and/or facilitating reflective supervision preferred
  • Ability to attain Reflective Supervisor endorsement to support consultants in counting RSC hours toward endorsement
  • Strong presence, listening skills, and ability to guide reflective conversations
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive and culturally sustaining practice
  • Familiarity with or connection to rural Oregon communities or the populations ORIMHA serves is a plus
  • Ability to travel within Oregon at least quarterly for in-person team meetings and events

Benefits and Compensation

  • Compensation for this role is expected to range from $76,500 to $85,500, depending on experience and alignment
