Job Description

Barkera is seeking Licensed Veterinarians who are passionate about education, prevention, and owner advocacy to join our expert network. This role is ideal for veterinarians who want to extend their impact beyond the exam room and contribute to shaping how pet owners understand health, wellness, and long‑term care. As a Barkera Veterinary Expert, you will serve as an educator, advisor, and thought leader, helping pet owners make informed decisions while reinforcing collaborative, respectful relationships with veterinary professionals. This is a non-clinical, advisory, and educational role with flexible participation based on your availability and interests.

Requirements

As a Licensed Veterinarian with Barkera, you may contribute in one or more of the following ways: Develop veterinary‑led educational content across multiple formats, including:

  • Written articles and guides
  • Video and audio education
  • Panels, webinars, and live Q&A sessions
  • Courses, diagrams, infographics, and clinical explainers

Provide preventative care education across the full pet lifecycle, including:

  • Wellness and early intervention
  • Nutrition and nutrigenomics
  • Growth, development, and aging
  • Disease prevention and risk reduction
  • Diagnostics, medications, and treatment literacy

Educate pet owners on how to:

  • Better communicate with their veterinarian
  • Understand diagnostics, lab work, and medical recommendations
  • Advocate appropriately and responsibly for their pets
  • Curriculum, assessments, discussion prompts, polls, and educational frameworks
  • Policies, protocols, and standards aligned with ethical veterinary practice
  • Monitor engagement and performance metrics related to educational programs and content
  • Collaborate with other experts (trainers, breeders, nutritionists, scientists) to deliver integrated, multidisciplinary education
  • Participate in referral and collaboration opportunities with other qualified experts

  • Active Veterinary License (DVM/VMD or equivalent) in good standing
  • Demonstrated experience in veterinary medicine with identifiable areas of expertise
  • Strong interest in education, prevention, and owner empowerment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Comfortable presenting knowledge through online platforms and digital tools
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
  • Open to professional dialogue, peer review, and constructive discussion
  • Self‑motivated, mission‑driven, and aligned with Barkera’s values
  • Prior experience in teaching, writing, content creation, or public education is strongly preferred
