OpenStack Cloud Engineer
Our client is a leading European technology organization focused on cloud computing, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. Its cloud ecosystem enables secure, scalable, and GDPR-compliant digital services for enterprises across Europe. Freelance cooperation Start date: ASAP/01.07.2026 Duration: until 31.10.2026, with the possibility of extension for an additional 6-12 months Requirements: Hands-on production experience with OpenStack, particularly Cinder and Nova. Strong programming skills in Python and/or Go. In-depth knowledge of Linux systems administration and cloud infrastructure. Experience with Kubernetes in production environments. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, build management, and release processes. Experience with root cause analysis and troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues. Prior involvement in OpenStack upstream development is a plus. Good command of English. German is a plus. Nice to have: Experienced in using AI tools in day-to-day workflow Main responsibilities: Develop and maintain OpenStack Cinder block storage services. Develop and maintain OpenStack Nova compute services. Build and maintain automation workflows using Python and/or Go. Operate and administer Linux-based cloud infrastructure. Contribute patches and improvements to OpenStack upstream projects. Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing within the team.
