Remote Cost Accounting Manager
Cost Accounting Manager (99% Remote) Location: Remote (Monthly onsite required in Winona, MN) Employment Type: Full Time, Direct Hire Industry: Manufacturing About the Opportunity A well established manufacturer is seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to lead cost accounting, inventory, WIP, and month end close activities. This organization is in growth mode, investing heavily in modernization and process optimization. This role is remote, with onsite presence required only during month end close near Winona, MN. What You'll Do
Lead cost accounting processes including inventory valuation, WIP tracking, product costing, and job costing Manage month end close activities, with heavy involvement on Days 1-2 Review and reconcile raw materials, finished goods, and overhead allocations Analyze variances and provide clear, actionable insights to leadership Partner closely with operations and finance to ensure accurate and timely financial data Maintain and improve ERP data (Microsoft Navision and AS400 strongly preferred) Document processes and support transition of work as needed Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, or improve reporting and workflows What We're Looking For 5+ years of cost accounting experience (senior cost accountant level or above) Background in manufacturing or distribution required Experience with Microsoft Navision and/or AS400 is a significant plus Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred Why This Role Stands Out Remote flexibility - onsite only during month end activities High visibility with leadership and cross functional teams Ability to modernize a function with many manual processes today Stable business with long term growth plans Opportunity to influence process, controls, and automation Strong bonus potential, 10-15%
