Responsibilities

  • Choose article topics selected from a pool
  • Research and write original travel articles
  • Pitch article topics to our Editorial team
  • Be a dedicated and consistent contributor to the site
  • Follow TheTravel's general Editorial Guidelines while producing unique and high-quality content
  • Produce articles in a timely manner to ensure that the latest industry news and most interesting content are always available to TheTravel's loyal readers
  • Work under tight deadlines and submit tasks on time
  • Work with Lead Editor to implement feedback efficiently

Skills

  • Cruise industry professional, travel agent, or frequent cruiser with 5+ yrs hands-on experience + writing experience
  • Knows cabin classes, major lines, ports, and onboard logistics firsthand
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field
  • 5 years of experience in producing travel and related content
  • In-depth familiarity with and fierce passion for the travel industry, especially the latest travel content
  • Experience with SEO practices
  • Experience with a custom CMS, preferred
