Remote Grant Writer - Non-Profit Programs

Our client, a dynamic and impactful non-profit organization dedicated to community enrichment, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Remote Grant Writer to join their team. This fully remote position is critical to securing the funding necessary to advance our client's mission and expand its vital programs. You will be responsible for researching potential funding sources, developing compelling grant proposals, and managing the entire grant application lifecycle. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional writing, editing, and research skills, with a proven track record of successfully securing grants from foundations, corporations, and government agencies (excluding direct government positions). You will work closely with program staff to understand project needs, gather necessary data, and articulate the organization's impact and vision in persuasive and clear language. This is a remote-first role, requiring strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines from your home office, supporting initiatives impacting communities in or around Virginia Beach, Virginia, US . Your responsibilities will include identifying funding opportunities that align with the organization's strategic goals, crafting persuasive narratives, preparing budgets, and ensuring compliance with all funder requirements. You will also be involved in cultivating relationships with potential funders and managing reporting obligations for awarded grants.

Key Responsibilities

Research and identify grant opportunities from various funding bodies. Develop persuasive and well-written grant proposals and applications. Collaborate with program teams to gather information and data for proposals. Articulate the organization's mission, programs, and impact effectively. Prepare grant budgets and financial justifications. Ensure all grant submissions adhere to funder guidelines and deadlines. Maintain a grants calendar and track submission status. Manage grant reporting requirements and prepare necessary documentation. Cultivate relationships with foundation program officers and other stakeholders. Stay informed about best practices in grant writing and non-profit fundraising.

Qualifications

Proven experience in grant writing, with a portfolio of successful proposals. Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Strong research and analytical abilities. Demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex program information. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant research databases. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment. Knowledge of non-profit operations and fundraising principles. Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
