Remote Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Remote Staff Accountant. Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations and financial reporting in a fully remote environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting and has strong experience with accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis. You'll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial data while partnering cross-functionally across the organization. Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and reclassifications
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts with a high level of accuracy
• Perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Analyze financial results, including month-over-month variance analysis and reporting
• Support monthly and year-end close processes
• Assist with cash analysis, bank reconciliations, and transaction review
• Manage aspects of billing, invoicing, and collections as needed
• Ensure accurate processing of payments (ACH, wires, and credit cards)
• Work within ERP systems to manage financial data and reporting (NetSuite or similar preferred)
• Partner with internal teams to ensure proper accounting treatment and consistency across departments
• Communicate effectively with management regarding financial results and issues

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1-3+ years of hands-on accounting experience
• Strong experience with accrual accounting, reconciliations, and financial analysis
• Experience working in an ERP system (NetSuite strongly preferred)
• Accruals & Close: Proven ability to handle accruals and support a smooth month-end close process
• Reconciliation Expertise: Strong account reconciliation skills with a focus on accuracy and follow-through
• Analytical Thinking: Experience performing variance analysis and explaining financial fluctuations
• ERP Systems: Comfortable working in accounting systems and managing large data sets
• Organization: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Communication: Clear, professional communication skills when working with cross-functional teams

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
