[Remote] Tax Preparer (Contract | Summer 2026)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Aline Accounting Partners is building a Tax & Accounting firm where employees can thrive. The Tax Preparer will prepare tax returns, ensure compliance with regulations, and support the tax team during peak periods.
Responsibilities
- Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations
- Accurately input and review financial data to ensure completeness and compliance
- Identify discrepancies or missing information and follow up with the team or clients as needed
- Apply knowledge of U.S. tax regulations to ensure accurate filings
- Support the tax team in meeting filing deadlines during peak periods
- Maintain organized documentation and adhere to internal processes and compliance standards
- Perform other ad hoc tax-related tasks as needed
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience preparing U.S. tax returns
- Strong understanding of tax compliance for individuals and small to mid-sized businesses
- Experience with tax and workflow software, preferably UltraTax (Thomson Reuters) and Karbon
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to manage multiple returns and meet tight deadlines during peak periods
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a remote team
- CPA or EA (Enrolled Agent) certification is a plus
