Senior Software Engineer – Design System
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us at Telia. I’m Hans Rasmussen, Head of Customer Interaction in Norway IT, and I’m searching for someone ready to grow with us. We’re a supportive, forward-thinking team focused on building and evolving a shared multi-brand design system powering multiple brands across web and app surfaces. What you’ll do: You’ll be at the core of scaling a design system that balances brand consistency with flexibility across Telia’s portfolio of consumer brands. Develop scalable, reusable UI components and design tokens that serve multiple brands from a single shared codebase Collaborate closely with UX designers, frontend engineers, and brand teams to ensure the system stays aligned with real product needs Drive adoption and governance of the design system across multiple product teams and squads Contribute to tooling, documentation, and processes that make the system easy to consume and evolve What will help you thrive in this role: You thrive in the intersection of engineering precision and design sensibility, and you enjoy making other teams faster and more consistent. Proven experience in building or maintaining a design system or component library at scale Strong knowledge of modern frontend technologies (React, CSS architecture, design tokens, Figma) Ability to communicate technical decisions to both designers and engineers across organizational boundaries Fluency in English; Norwegian is a plus Comfortable working with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude, and taking ownership of the quality and correctness of AI-generated code Join us to shape smarter living for people, businesses, and the planet At Telia, we’re a team of 15 000 colleagues across the Nordics and Baltics, passionate about technology and connectivity.
