Software Developer PHP (m/f/d)

Every day, millions of business transactions occur on our platform. A café owner receives a tip for good service, a boutique processes a credit card payment, and a food truck tracks its inventory. At ready2order, we develop software that streamlines these processes for over 17.000 entrepreneurs in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. For our Engineering Team in Vienna, we are looking for an experienced Software Developer PHP (f/m/d) who loves clean architecture, well-designed APIs, and seeing their code run in production for real businesses. You will work alongside product managers, designers, and QA engineers in a lean, cross-functional product development team. There are short feedback loops, and you will have real ownership over what you build.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building high-performance backend services - scalable, reliable, and built to last.
• Owning API design and implementation for endpoints used by our mobile apps, integrations, and partners.
• Diving deep into database architecture and optimization at production scale.
• Integrating payment systems, fiscal compliance services, and third-party APIs into a unified platform.
• Raising the bar on code quality through thoughtful reviews, testing strategies, and targeted refactoring.
• Collaborating closely with Product, Design, and the wider Engineering team to turn ideas into releases.

Requirements

• Proven expertise as a PHP developer with solid production knowledge of Laravel.
• Experience building and consuming APIs (REST and ideally GraphQL) and understanding of good API design.
• Solid knowledge of relational databases (MySQL and PostgreSQL), schema design, and their optimization.
• Experience with continuous integration, as well as modern build and continuous deployment processes.
• Strong experience working on large-scale, high-availability services within a comprehensive codebase.
• Analytical mindset with a challenger mindset and a keen eye for detail and code quality.
• Team player with strong communication skills in English and, ideally, German too.
• Self-driven and proactive work style.
