Supplier Risk Analyst - UT, TX, CA, NV, CO or AZ

About the position Zions Bancorporation is seeking a Supplier Risk Analyst to join the Supply Chain Management Department. This department supports the bank's needs regarding suppliers, aiming to create value by acting as a trusted advisor and safeguarding against supplier-related risks through sourcing, legal, and risk responsibilities. The Supplier Risk Management group assesses and manages suppliers throughout their lifecycle, identifying risks via assessments, discussing controls with suppliers, and addressing identified weaknesses. This role offers an opportunity to grow a risk career by applying risk knowledge to help all bank groups identify and mitigate risk, leading to a better understanding of the bank's overall function and visibility to executives.

Responsibilities

  • Performing third-party risk assessments and analyzing the risk level of third-party engagements for new and existing vendors.
  • Analyzing due diligence documentation to determine risk assessment ratings against the Bank's risk methodology and in accordance with regulatory and industry standards.
  • Assessing the adequacy of due diligence documentation received from vendors as a quality control measure before passing it to subject matter experts (SMEs), where necessary.
  • Synthesizing inputs from Bank's risk SMEs, vendor documentation, and conversations with lines of business to develop risk assessments.
  • Authoring risk narratives to communicate key risks for an engagement or vendor and support the assigned risk level.
  • Monitoring, analyzing, and maintaining vendor information and documentation.
  • Building strong relationships with lines of business and risk SMEs across the Bank.
  • Actively challenging inputs (e.g., vendor and business claims) using a strong understanding of risk topics and mindset.
  • Contributing to and leading internal initiatives, including methodology enhancements and acting against workplans to deliver projects.
  • Presenting analysis and findings to stakeholders and committees when required.
  • Working with business units to ensure documentation is received and updated as needed.
  • Collaborating with other teams in supply chain management and stakeholders across the business.
  • Keeping current on regulatory requirements.
  • Utilizing proficient skills in word processing, database, and spreadsheet software and applications.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Requires a degree in Business, Finance or related field.
  • 4 + years experience in vendor risk management, risk management, vendor management or other directly related experience or certifications.
  • Advanced knowledge of vendor management, regulatory requirements and compliance, third-party risk management, regulatory requirements and reporting.
  • Excellent problem solving, project and vendor relationship management skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to set and maintain high quality work standards.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must have a risk-mindset.
  • Ability to deal effectively with people in various job capacities.
  • Strong analytical, judgment and decision making skills.
  • Demonstrate initiative and possess strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Advanced working knowledge of word processing, database and spreadsheet software and applications.
