You will work closely with senior team members to manage the company's investments in carbon credits and renewable energy. This role is a unique chance to leverage your expertise in carbon credit procurement and renewable energy to make a tangible difference in the fight against climate change.Key Responsibilities• Reporting to the Director of Sustainability & Operations, you will manage Netflix's investments in carbon credits and renewable energy, ensuring a balanced and diverse portfolio that aligns with the company's climate objectives.• Structure purchase-ahead deals that support project developers in bringing new, high-quality credits to market in areas identified by climate science, such as blue carbon.• Vet the quality of carbon credits against Netflix's five screening criteria, ensuring that investments meet the highest standards of integrity and effectiveness.• Negotiate pricing directly with project developers to secure affordable and fair deals.• Match the number of tons retired in a given year to Netflix's annual carbon footprint, ensuring that the company's emissions are accurately offset.• Contribute to scientific and NGO-led efforts to scale high-quality credit resources and improve procurement practices.• Support renewable energy purchases, from annual EAC purchases to project-specific investment opportunities, through competitive procurements, liaison with dealers and project developers, and emissions analysis.• Collaborate with finance teams to conduct project-level financial analysis and ensure that investments are economically viable.• Maintain data monitoring and systems for required annual footprint and emissions reductions accounting.Essential QualificationsTo succeed in this role, you must have:• At least five years of experience in carbon credit procurement, with a proven track record of sourcing, structuring, and executing deals.• Two or more years of experience in renewable energy procurement, with familiarity with voluntary RE markets being a plus.• A strong background in portfolio management, with experience handling carbon credits and renewable energy investments.• Validated experience with third-party standards that ensure additionality, permanence, non-leakage, realistic baselines, and no double counting.• A history of collaborating with the carbon credit and renewable energy communities, including coalitions, research organizations, policymakers, vendors, and third-party certifiers.Preferred QualificationsWhile not mandatory, the following qualifications will make your application stand out:• Experience with nature-based solutions that offer high integrity and co-benefits such as community livelihoods, water conservation, and biodiversity.• Familiarity with direct sourcing, utility-based supply programs, and bundled and unbundled credits in renewable energy investments.Skills and CompetenciesTo excel as a Sustainability Program Manager at Netflix, you will need:• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex carbon credit and renewable energy markets.• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to work effectively with stakeholders, including project developers, vendors, and internal teams.• The ability to work independently in a remote setting, with a high degree of self-motivation and discipline.• A passion for sustainability and climate change mitigation, with a deep understanding of the issues and solutions.Career Growth and Learning OpportunitiesAs a member of Netflix's Sustainability team, you will have the opportunity to grow professionally and personally.
