Teacher - High - Asynchronous, Virtual (Virtual Learning Program)(Internal only)
This position provides asynchronous virtual instruction to students via the WJCC Learning Management System (Canvas). This is a stipend position, pay is based on the number of courses and students taught in various school-year terms (ie semester and yearlong pacing). The Virtual Learning Program is a supplemental program of WJCC schools and does not offer all courses in the WJCC Program of Studies. Anticipated needs: math, science (chemistry, biology), social studies Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate current, accurate, and comprehensive knowledge of topics covered in the curriculum and the state Standards of Learning and prepares students to master grade level standards.
- Review provided curriculum and supplement or edit lessons, assignments, and assessments as necessary.
- Set course pacing and due date expectations.
- Establish and maintain rapport with students and families.
- Provide ongoing and timely feedback to students, families, and school staff regarding student achievement and progress, maintain up-to date gradebook.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with appropriate certification for teaching assignment from an accredited college or university.
- Possess or be eligible for a teacher license from the Virginia Department of Education.
- Completed coursework in Online Teaching Methodologies (or similar) and/or successful teaching in virtual, asynchronous environment.
- Act under the direction and advice of the Virtual Learning Program administrators within the guidelines of school division policy and Virginia Department of Education regulations.
- Knowledge of VDOE and WJCC curriculum and techniques for integrating curriculum.
- Excellent written communication skills and human relation skills.
