Position: Telco Cloud Engineer (5G, OpenRan, OpenStack, Python) This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Telco Cloud Engineer (5G, Open Ran, Open Stack, Python) in Brazil. This role is focused on leading the design, deployment, and optimization of next-generation telco cloud solutions, including 5G, OpenRAN, Open Stack, and Kubernetes environments. You will work closely with service providers to translate complex technical requirements into scalable infrastructure solutions, helping them adopt cloud-native and software-defined networking technologies. This position offers hands-on experience in multi-tenant private clouds, micro clouds, and automation, while also providing opportunities to influence product roadmaps and operational improvements. It is ideal for a technically skilled engineer passionate about open-source technologies, automation, and innovation in the telco space. You will collaborate across teams, solve challenging infrastructure problems, and ensure customers achieve operational excellence. Remote work is supported, with some travel for project delivery and client engagements. Accountabilities:

  • Design, implement, and optimize telco-grade cloud solutions using Open Stack, Kubernetes, MAAS, and Ceph
  • Lead customer engagements, including technical pre-sales consulting, infrastructure design, and solution deployment
  • Apply advanced Infrastructure as Code (IaC) techniques with Terraform, Python, and automation scripts
  • Support integration and troubleshooting across NFVi, NFVO, VNFM, MEC, and other telco architectures
  • Collaborate with customers to adopt private, public, and hybrid cloud solutions, providing guidance on best practices
  • Identify and report software defects, recommend improvements, and contribute to roadmap planning
  • Mentor and support customers and internal teams in deploying, configuring, and maintaining cloud and telco infrastructure

Requirements:

  • Intermediate to advanced Python development experience (mandatory)
  • Strong knowledge of Terraform and automation practices
  • Deep understanding of telco NFVi (VIM), NFVO, VNFM, MEC, and related infrastructure
  • Technical knowledge of telco systems including CPU Pinning, NUMA, SRIOV, DPDK, Mobile Packet Core, Radio, OSS/BSS
  • Hands-on experience with Linux, Open Stack, Kubernetes, and cloud networking
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead complex projects end-to-end
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and customer engagement skills
  • Ability to travel up to 50% for customer meetings, project deployments, and events
  • Additional assets: open-source contributions, multilingual skills
