W2 Contract- C2H - Fully Remote Position- MYSQL DBA
MYSQL DBA Fully remote-contract to hire Operational maintenance and support of 120+ database instances across 15 environments. Patches, upgrades, proactive/reactive maintenance, supporting the app dev team (performance tuning, SQL dev), war rooms and incident restoration Top skills:
- Self-motivated with great communication written and verbal as well as time availability to maintain the relationship with India team
- Strong proficiency in MySQL database management in managing large scale MySQL databases. 5+ years
- Deep understanding of replication and clustering. Experience with replication configuration in MySQL. 5+ years
Ideal candidate background: 5+ years of MySQL DBA experience Required skills/attributes:
- Team is split between US and India. Candidate must be self-motivated with great communication written and verbal as well as time availability to maintain the relationship with India team
- Strong proficiency in MySQL database management in managing large scale MySQL databases
- Deep understanding of replication and clustering
- Experience with replication configuration in MySQL
- Good knowledge on MySQL architecture & advanced knowledge on InnoDB internals
- Understanding of MySQL’s underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB and other engines
- Experience in MySQL installation and upgrade process
- Hands on experience with designing and implementing database high availability solution strategies
- Experience on backup solutions and strategies
- Knowledge of standards and best practices in MySQL
- Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements
- Knowledge of limitations in MySQL and their workarounds
- Experience administering in Linux
- Experience in MySQL user management
Preferred skills/attributes:
- Jenkins pipeline development
- UNIX scripting
- Proxy SQL
- Data partitioning
- Experience with GitHub
- Experience with MongoDB, Postgres or Oracle
